Youth Confirmation Classes -
POSTPONED pending further information on a date for a regional or parish visitation by Bishop Sutton. The curriculum will be My Faith, My Life: A Teen's Guide to the Episcopal Church, recommended by the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland's Missioner for Christian Formation, Randi Hicks Rowe. You can click the link above to read about the curriculum. Each youth will receive their own copy. The class will follow the format of a book club. Each month we will review and discuss one chapter. The Book of Common Prayer states, "In the course of their Christian development, those baptized at an early age are expected, when they are ready and have been duly prepared, to make a mature public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism and to receive the laying on of hands by the bishop" (BCP, p.412). If your youth (6th -12th grade) would like to participate in the Rite of Confirmation, please contact Dawn+ at dawncampbell@stjameslothian.com or (410)867-2838, before January 1st. |
