 Youth Sunday November 2nd!! -
On Sunday, November 2nd we will have YOUTH SUNDAY!! The children and youth of St. James' Parish will be leading worship during the 9:00am service.
We will have youth reading the lessons, a children's sermon from one of our clergy, followed by a sermon from one of our older youth. We will have youth centered music, and a children's "choir" singing the anthem. There will be youth ushers and an older youth administering the chalice during communion.
Come and worship with the children and youth of St. James' Parish as they share their ministry with us in what will be a phenomenal worship experience.
Future Youth Sundays are scheduled for January 4th, March 1st, and May 3rd.

| Atrium Fellowship -
On Sunday, November 2nd from 11:30am - 1:30pm children in Atrium I, II, and III (Pre-K - grade5) will meet for fellowship in the AtriumIII classroom. We will be making prayer cards to hang on a prayer tree, in the spirit of All Saints Sunday and Thanksgiving Day.
Prayer Trees are just one of the many creative ways to teach children how to pray. Prayer Trees are found in and around many churches and homes all over the world. Some Prayer Trees have cards with written prayers, some have ribbons that represent prayers.
Prayer Trees are a wonderful symbol of the prayer life of a church community or family, and are a great reminder to, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). |
Pizza & Bible Study for Youth (grades 6-12)- Starting in October we will begin a monthly Bible study for youth grade 6 through grade 12.
The Jr. and Sr. High School youth (grades 6-12) will be meeting on the fourth Monday of the month. The next session will be Nov. 24th. We will meet in the YAC classroom on the upper level of the education building.
We will meet from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Our time together will begin with prayer, pizza and check-in time. We will then spend the next hour watching a short video on one of the Bible characters then, moving on to discussion time, encouraging "youth to see the similarities between themselves and their faith ancestors...Unlikely people called by God to do amazing things."
re:form Ancestors is a youth Bible study curriculum that helps older students get to know personalities from the Old and New Testaments.
Please email Dawn+ at dawncampbell@stjameslothian.com if your youth would like to join the Bible study. |
