Youth Confirmation Classes -
Youth Confirmation classes will begin Monday, January 12th from 7:00pm-8:00pm and will be held monthly for ten sessions.  Bishop Heather Cook will be making a visitation to St. James' in the fall and will officiate the Rite of Confirmation for those youth who have completed the Confirmation class.  The curriculum will be My Faith, My Life: A Teen's Guide to the Episcopal Church, recommended by the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland's Missioner for Christian Formation, Randi Hicks Rowe.  You can click the link above to read about the curriculum. Each youth will receive their own copy.  The class will follow the format of a book club.  Each month we will review and discuss one chapter.

The Book of Common Prayer states, "In the course of their Christian development, those baptized at an early age are expected, when they are ready and have been duly prepared, to make a mature public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism and to receive the laying on of hands by the bishop" (BCP, p.412).

If your youth (6th -12th grade) would like to participate in the Rite of Confirmation, please contact Dawn+ at dawncampbell@stjameslothian.com or (410)867-2838, before January 1st.
Pizza & Bible Study for Youth (grades 6-12)-

Starting in October we began a monthly Bible study for youth grade 6 through grade 12.

The Jr. and Sr. High School youth
(grades 6-12) will be meeting on the
fourth Monday of the month. The next session will be Jan. 26th.  We will meet in the YAC classroom on the upper level of the education building.

We will meet from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  Our time together will begin with prayer, pizza and check-in time.  We will then spend the next hour watching a short video on one of the Bible characters then, moving on to discussion time, encouraging "youth to see the similarities between themselves and their faith ancestors...Unlikely people called by God to do amazing things."

re:form Ancestors is a youth Bible study curriculum that helps older students get to know personalities from the Old and New Testaments.

Please email Dawn+ at dawncampbell@stjameslothian.com if your youth would like to join the Bible study.
