Children and Youth Announcements

St. James' Parish Old Herring Creeke   Children and Youth Announcements    December 1, 2014 Atrium Fellowship-  Sunday, Dec. 7th from 11:30am - 1:30pm.  The children will learn about The Advent Jesse Tree and make Jesse Tree ornaments to use at home. Toys-R-Us Shopping -    Sunday, Dec. 7th. from 1:30pm-4:30pm.  The youth (6th-12th grade) will shop for toys which will be presented to the Salvation Army on Tuesday, Dec. 9th. Salvation Army Sing Along - Tuesday, Dec. 9th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Youth will present the Salvation Army representatives with the toys purchased from Toys-R-US. Lunch with Santa - Saturday, Dec. 13th from 12pm - 2pm.  A great opportunity for the youth of St. James' to help those in need in our surrounding community. Pizza & Bible Study for Youth (grades 6-12)-       Starting in October we will begin a monthly Bible study for youth grade 6 through grade 12. The Jr. and Sr. High School youth  (grades 6-12) will be meeting on the fourth Monday of the month. The next session will be Dec. 22nd.  We will meet in the YAC classroom on the upper level of the education building. We will meet from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  Our time together will begin with prayer, pizza and check-in time.  We will then spend the next hour watching a short video on one of the Bible characters then, moving on to discussion time, encouraging "youth to see the similarities between themselves and their faith ancestors...Unlikely people called by God to do amazing things."   re:form Ancestors is a youth Bible study curriculum that helps older students get to know personalities from the Old and New Testaments.
