Youth Fellowship Activity On Saturday, November 9th 5pm - 10pm the youth 6th-12th grade are invited to a Remedy Drive concert at Calvary Chapel in Severn, MD. Remedy Drive is a Christian Rock band. This is a great opportunity to experience Christian music from a popular Christian rock band. Acolyte Commissioning - Rescheduled! Acolyte Commissioning has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 10th. The ministry of young people is very important at St. James'. On November 10th at the 9:00am service, the acolytes will be recognized for their ministry and be commissioned for service.  Youth Confirmation Classes - Next Youth Confirmation class is Monday, October 28th from 7:00pm-8:00pm. It's not too late to join the class. On Sunday, June 22, 2014 Bishop Eugene T. Sutton will be making a visitation to St. James' and will officiate the Rite of Confirmation for those youth who have completed the Confirmation class. The curriculum will be My Faith, My Life: A Teen's Guide to the Episcopal Church, recommended by the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland's Missioner for Christian Formation, Randi Hicks Rowe. You can click the link above to read about the curriculum. Each youth will receive their own copy. The class will follow the format of a book club. Each month we will review and discuss one chapter. The Book of Common Prayer states, "In the course of their Christian development, those baptized at an early age are expected, when they are ready and have been duly prepared, to make a mature public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism and to receive the laying on of hands by the bishop" (BCP, p.412).
