Last week the South County Vacation Bible School was held here at St. James' Parish and was a huge success. We had approximately 75 children and 40 volunteers from St. James' Parish, Friendship United Methodist Church, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, as well as from the surrounding community.
The children learned how to "stand strong for God," through games, skits, imagination, snacks, and music. Each day's theme centered on a Bible verse.
Sunday: "I love you, Lord: you are my strength." - Psalm 18:1
Monday: "So encourage each other and build each other up." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Tuesday: "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything."- Philippians 4:6
Wed.: "Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock." - Isaiah 26:4
Thurs.: "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." - Psalm 119:105
The fun continues with the Off the Bench - Sports and Drama Camp, July 8 -12 from 9am to 12pm, for children from 4yrs - 5th grade. To register go to http://www.mzumc.com/.
