| | Annual Celebration - Sunday School Schedule St. James' Annual Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, January 27th. There will be an 8am service at St. Mark's Chapel, and a 10am service at St. James' Church. The Annual Celebration will follow the 10am service, in the Parish Hall. There will be Sunday school prior to the 10am service, beginning at 9am!! |
| Annual Celebration - Altar Server, Chalicist, Reader Schedule Because of the schedule change, those servers that were originally scheduled for the 11am service on January 27th are asked to serve at the 10am service. Those who were originally scheduled to serve at the 9am service, have a Sunday off - not from church, just from officially serving! |  Souper Bowl Sunday Sunday, February 3rd is Super Bowl Sunday AND Souper Bowl Sunday. Confused? Don't be. As part of a national program, Souper Bowl of Caring, the St. James' Youth will be standing by the doors following each service to collect donations in large soup bowls. The money raised will be kept until Holy Week when the youth will do a Supermarket Sweep, purchasing groceries with the money raised to help support the SCAN food bank. |
| Atrium and Youth Fellowship Sunday, February 3rd from 11:30am - 1:30pm the Atrium and Youth Fellowships, parents and adults, will enjoy the annual ice skating outing at Quiet Waters Park (weather permitting), or Bowie Ice Rink. Parental supervision is required for all Atrium children. Come join us for fun, fellowship, and I'm sure a few laughs! All youth, Atrium children and their parent/guardian,please sign-up by emailing dawncampbell@stjameslothian.com or sign-up on the sign-up sheet located across from the clergy offices. |
 Coming Soon! Pancake Supper St. James' Parish Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is Tuesday, February 12th starting at 6:00pm with fellowship and dinner at 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Cost: donations support the Christian Formation programs.
Youth participation at the Pancake Supper is a requirement for those youth who sign up for the ski trip. |
 Youth Ski Trip On Presidents' Day Weekend Friday, February 15th through February 18th the youth will make their yearly trek to western Maryland for the annual ski trip. The lodging has been booked, chaperones are on the ready, and now all we need is the youth! Youth must sign up as soon as possible by emailing dawncampbell@stjameslothian.com or signing up on the sign up sheet located on the youth bulletin board across from the clergy offices. The sooner we have a preliminary count, the better. We are limited to 12 youth. In order for youth to participate in the ski trip, they must be active members in St. James' youth education and fellowship, as well as participating in the Pancake Supper on Tuesday, February 12th. Depending on the numbers, active youth may be able to invite a friend on the ski trip. The approximate cost per youth is $275. Stay tuned for additional details and announcements!! |
